Retirement/Compensation information

This site contains details of the benefits you may receive from the Scheme. The actual compensation you will receive will be calculated in accordance with the Pensions Act 2004 and associated legislation.

For more information regarding your compensation entitlements, please refer to the 'Welcome to the Pension Protection Fund' booklet which provides a summary of the provisions of the Compensation rules. The 'Welcome to the Pension Protection Fund' booklet is issued to all members and can be found within the PPF Booklets page of this site. If there is a conflict between this booklet and the legislation, the legislation prevails.

If you access an estimate of the benefits payable within this site, please note that the information provided is just that – an estimate – and should be read in conjunction with the rest of the site information, including the 'Welcome to the Pension Protection Fund' booklet. It does not constitute entitlement to the benefits illustrated. You should not make any retirement decision based solely on the figures provided.

Nothing contained on the site constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax or other advice and is not to be relied on in making a financial, investment or other decision. You should obtain relevant and specific professional advice before making any financial or investment decision.

No warranty

Although we have taken all reasonable care to ensure that the information provided on this site is accurate, we give no warranties, undertakings or representations of any kind, either express or implied, to the full extent permitted under applicable law with regard to all or any part of the content or materials, the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of any such information.

No liability

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

We accept no liability however caused (to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law) arising out of the use of or access to this site (which includes without limitation) any errors or omissions contained in this site and we shall not be liable for any direct or indirect:

  • Economic losses (including without limitation loss of revenues, data, profits, contracts, use, opportunity, business or anticipated savings);
  • Loss of goodwill or reputation; or
  • Loss or damage which was not reasonably foreseeable, suffered or incurred arising out of or in connection with your use of this site and/or these terms and conditions.

Access to and use of this site is at your own risk and we do not warrant that the use of this site or any material downloaded from it will not cause damage to any property, or otherwise minimise or eliminate the inherent risks of the internet including but not limited to loss of data, computer virus infection, spyware, malicious damages, Trojans and worms. Also we accept no liability in respect of losses or damages arising out of changes made to the content of this site by unauthorised third parties.

We do not exclude our duties under the Pensions Act 2004.

In order to maintain the security of our systems, protect our staff and detect fraud and other crimes, we reserve the right to monitor all internet communications, including web and email traffic, into and out of our domain. Monitoring includes (without limitation) checks for viruses and other malignant code, criminal activity, and use of content that is unauthorised or unlawful or material that may cause offence in any way.

Please note that there is no guarantee that any email sent will be received, or that the contents or any such email will remain private or unaltered during Internet transmission. If you have any such concerns, you may prefer to telephone or write to us instead.
